Economics studies the relationship between the production and consumption of goods and services. Respectonomics is concerned with another relationship – the one that is the underlay to all transactions – and that’s the relationship between human beings. Our mission (not a job!) is to put the human being back into the “mix”, particularly in corporate and organizational settings, though our findings point to the abandonment of RESPECT in many corridors of life.
The Human Being is utterly remarkable, and the way we have highjacked our values is utterly irresponsible. The consequences are loneliness, depression, frustration and anger; a lack of innovation and productivity; employee turnover; distrust in many social systems, and most importantly of all – the destruction of hope.
In the vernacular, these are pointing to a decline in mental health.
Respectonomics draws us to the foundation of the Human Being, a tripartite arrangement of Body, Mind, and Soul, expressed so often in our Emotions. The transaction pursued by Respectonomics applies to any organizational structure, and depends on two factors. First, how does the organization engage with the individual in relation to these human qualities of Body, Mind, Soul and Emotions? And secondly how does the individual reciprocate to that organization on the same basis of its Body, Mind Soul and Emotions? So often the conventional creed disowns responsibility or attention to the human makeup – and frankly, it’s mutual. For example, the proverbial corporation declares profits-at-all costs, the employee responds with disdain and fear. Our allegory is purchasing a very high-end bicycle. As the purchaser proudly leaves the store, the salesperson adds “You get two thirds of the chain”. Naturally, the bicycle doesn’t function as intended, not to mention the repairs required, as well as wastage of money and time.
Respectonomics has three goals.
One: Identify the denial of respect.
Two: Confront the reasons.
Three: Eliminate the causes.
The purpose is to reignite the fire of the Human Being, recreate the values of unity, refresh the pleasures of innovation and productivity, AND give HOPE a valid and powerful place in our lives.
Respectonomics has developed strategies to reinstate the Human Being. These may be reviewed personally, in groups large and small, and by way of presentations. They are intensely and privately personal, they are conversational, and they allow individuals to explore their own persona, as well as learning approaches to breathe fresh air into their talents.
